About the school
The Multicultural Folk High School is responsible for the activities of the Finnish Folk High School. The folk high school is located in Angered, Bergsjön, Västra Frölunda, and Gårdsten in Gothenburg. The decision to locate the school in these areas was based on the fact that many Finns lived here or in nearby areas. Finnish-language activities began in January 1981 in the form of a folk high school course for Finnish speakers. The organizer was the then municipally owned Gothenburg Folk High School.
Over the years, the school has offered courses that promote intercultural understanding, language learning, and personal development for everyone, regardless of background. It has been a platform for cultural exchange and cooperation through cultural activities. A central part of the school's activities has been language training, especially Swedish as a second language. The school has played a key role in facilitating integration and communication for new arrivals and immigrants.
